This month I celebrated my 62^nd Birthday.  May is also CF Awareness Month.  As many of you know, I have spent a good part of my lifetime dedicated to finding a cure for CF.  As we often do around our birthdays, I was reflecting on the many wonderful memories and experiences in my life, when it dawned on me that even with all the cutting-edge research and life-changing therapies, people are still dying too young from cystic fibrosis. 

Despite all these advancements, many people with CF do not benefit from existing therapies and some never will.  For people born with CF today, it is predicted that only half are expected to live longer than age 61.  OMG, that means half will die before the age of 61!

We have come so far but still have a long and hard path ahead to eradicate this disease.  The race for a cure is more important than ever.  The next steps will require a lot of hard work and money for cutting-edge genetic therapeutics.

I have decided to use my birthday wish as a reminder that people are still dying from CF, and we must do everything in our power to find a cure.  Please consider a donation of any amount to join the fight for a cure.  What better way to celebrate than to make CF stand for CURE FOUND!
