My Breathe Team Story
Fundraising for 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend
Emma Parker
A few months ago, I had what seemed like a crazy idea: sign up for a 5K in support of a dear friend who was finishing up her chemo treatments. 🏃♀️🩷
What started as a simple goal quickly grew. First, I changed that 5K into a 10K. Then, somewhere along the way, I decided to start training for something I never imagined I could do—a half marathon.
While my original plan of signing up for runDisney with my friends unfortunately couldn’t come true due to the lottery of registration BUT I was able to secure a charity bib!!!
Today, I’m excited to share that I’ll be representing Breathe Team at the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February 2027! 👑✨💜
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m running to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
This journey is about so much more than crossing a finish line. It’s about supporting the fight against cystic fibrosis, raising awareness, and honoring those who face this disease every single day with incredible strength and determination. 🏃🏻♀️💜
As part of Breathe Team, I’ve committed to raising funds that will help advance research, improve treatments, and bring hope to individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis.
If you’d like to support me on this journey, I would be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small. Every dollar helps move us closer to a future where cystic fibrosis no longer limits lives.
Thank you for cheering me on, supporting this cause, and helping me turn one “crazy idea” into something bigger than I ever expected. 💜
