My Breathe Team Story
Fundraising for 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend
Audrey Stone
Welcome to My Fundraising Page!
Thank you for visiting! This February, my mom and I are running 19.3 miles over two days in the Disney Princess Fairy Tale Challenge to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF).
Why This Cause Matters to Me
Being in chiropractic school has given me a better understanding of how Cystic Fibrosis affects the body. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder caused by a change in a gene that affects a protein responsible for moving chloride ions across cell membranes. One of the most common forms involves the loss of one amino acid called phenylalanine, which causes the protein to fold incorrectly and be broken down.
When this protein does not work properly, mucus becomes thick and sticky and can build up in the lungs and digestive system. This can make it difficult to breathe and cause problems with digestion.

Running for a Bigger Purpose
Running for a cause is something my mom passed down to me. She has previously raised money for the New York City Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon, showing me firsthand how powerful it is when a community comes together to run for something bigger than themselves. Bringing that same energy and passion to support CFF means the world to me.
A Special Mother-Daughter Milestone
This challenge is extra special for our family:
- My 4th Half Marathon: I’m so excited to cross this finish line alongside my mom!
- My Mom's 26th Half Marathon: Hitting 26 half marathons is an incredible personal goal for her, and running it together to support CFF makes every step that much more meaningful.
Why Your Support Matters
Decades ago, the outlook for people living with CF was very different. Thanks to donor-funded research, groundbreaking treatments like CFTR modulators have extended life expectancies and transformed lives. But the fight isn't over until CF stands for "Cure Found."
How You Can Help
- Donate: Whether it's $10, $26 (in honor of my mom's 26th half!), $50, or any amount, every dollar helps support life-changing research.
- Share: Please pass this page along to your family, friends, and fellow runners!
Thank you so much for supporting our mother-daughter journey and helping others breathe easier!
