Hi, I’m Joseph Lightning, and I’m running for something far bigger than the finish line.

In 2027, I’m honored to be taking on one of the most demanding and meaningful challenges of my life: the runDisney Dopey Challenge as part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Breathe Team. Over four days, I’ll run four races; 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon - 48.6 miles in total. It’s called “Dopey” for a reason… and I wouldn’t be doing it without a purpose this powerful.

I’m dedicating every mile of this journey to my nephew, Jordan Goffin, who bravely lived with cystic fibrosis and passed away in 2020 at just 28 years old. Jordan was kind, resilient, and full of heart. He faced every challenge with strength and grace, and his spirit continues to inspire me every single day.

Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic, life‑shortening disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Tremendous progress has been made, but there is still no cure. That’s why I run. I run for Jordan. I run for the families who live this fight every day. And I run for the future we all believe is possible.

Every step across those 48.6 miles is for those who can’t. Your support helps fund life‑saving research, compassionate care, and real hope. No donation is too small, every dollar makes an impact and brings us closer to the day when CF finally stands for Cure Found.

Thank you for supporting this cause that means so much to me and my family. Together, let’s make every mile matter.

With gratitude,
Joseph Lightning
