Running Disney for a Future Without Cystic Fibrosis
Fundraising for Walt Disney World Marathon 2027
Manuel Jolliffe-Mahoney
In January 2027, I’ll be running my first full marathon at Walt Disney World and I’m using every mile to help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation move closer to a cure.
Cystic fibrosis is a rare disease that affects many people and still has no cure. I chose to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation because it has a strong track record of funding research, improving treatments and pushing toward the day when this disease no longer limits someone’s chance to live a joyful life. I may not know anyone personally with cystic fibrosis, but I believe we can come together around causes that clearly matter and make a real difference for people who are living with it every day.
Earlier this year, I ran my first half marathon on March 21 in Washington DC and finished under my goal of 2 hours and 10 minutes. That race reminded me how much I love running and showed me why so many people fall in love with the sport. Now I’m taking on a bigger challenge: my first full marathon. I wanted a race that felt fun and less intimidating for a first-timer and the Walt Disney World Marathon is exactly that—26.2 magical miles through all four Disney World parks, with a one-of-a-kind experience you can’t get anywhere else.
This fundraiser is about more than just crossing a finish line. It’s about rediscovering my love of running and taking my health seriously. I will be using this journey to support a cause that is working every day to give people with cystic fibrosis more time, more memories and more hope.
My goal is to raise $1,500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. If you are able to give $10, $25, $50, $100 or any amount that feels right. Your support will help fund research, care and programs that directly impact people living with cystic fibrosis.
If you are able to support, please consider making a donation today and sharing this page with others who might want to help. Thank you for being part of this journey and for cheering me on to 26.2 miles at Disney World!
