My Great Strides Story

Fundraising for Buffalo Great Strides 2026
Ladeena Gilleland
This year marks the 16th year Kai Rae's Air Brigade has been involved with the annual Great Strides Event. Kaidyn is now 16, has attended this annual event since she was 6 months old! While she didn't understand what all this "CF fuss" was about, she has lived it! She is so full of life and now understands her challenges with CF! There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and I am walking to help change that reality.
Kai continues to be a Big Sister and is a Junior this year. She Loves playing Field Hockey and knows how much this sport helps with the battle with CF. I want to Thank All of You that have Supported Our Team through these 16 Years, It Means More Than You Know.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
I encourage you to join our team to help me exceed our fundraising goal. TOGETHER, we have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
