Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a progressive genetic disease that affects the lungs, digestive system, and other vital organs, causing thick mucus buildup that can make breathing and digestion difficult.

As a pediatric physical therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and families affected by CF. I’ve seen firsthand the strength, resilience, and joy these kids bring every single day, as well as the challenges they face.

The progress made in CF care over the past few decades has been extraordinary, and it’s a direct result of research, advocacy, specialized care, and the support of communities like this one. But there is still no cure, and continued funding is essential to keep improving treatments and outcomes for everyone living with CF.
