After working with the CF Foundation from 2018 through 2022, I'm so happy to have joined the Advancement team this year and add to the momentum for Great Strides!
In just the few weeks I've been back, I have seen the incredible advances made in the past four years. There is no organization driven by more passionate volunteers, talented staff, and a commitment to end a disease.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
