When I was 17, I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis—a disorder usually diagnosed in early childhood. Since then, I’ve improved so much with help from my care team and medications. Although research has come very far in recent years, there is still no cure for CF. I won’t stop using my voice until CF never takes another life.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
