When we found out my sister Julia had Cystic Fibrosis, I can remember exactly in the house where I was standing. I was 10 years old and at that time it was more of a death sentence. She was diagnosed at 15 years old and the Life expectancy was 18. Imagine being informed that late in life that you have terminal illness at one of the most vulnerable eras in your lifetime.
Fast forward several decades later. All the Great Strides walks, all the fundraising and finest programs, all of the testing and advancements in treatment and even simply a better understanding of the many variations and mutations of this disease...we have come so far.
The countless drugs that have changed and saved lives, created a future for those living with CF. My sister Julia has been at the frontlines of being the guinea pig for all the advancements. Help our family, TEAM FER JULES, reach and surpass our goal this year and help save lives. We are closer than ever to finding a cure and it will be up to us!

CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
