Our lives were forever changed when Tyler entered the world on November 1, 2013.  Little did we know, that in 10 days, our lives were going to be forever changed again...

On November 11th I got a call around 8:30 in the morning from the nurse at Dr. Faucette’s office.  She said they received a test result from MMC and asked if we could come in.  The appointment was at 10:30 which left us with 2 hours to wonder what in the world was going on.  When we entered the exam room the nurse wanted to get an updated weight for Tyler.  As I undressed him I realized he needed an outfit change.  We got his weight and then I proceeded to redress him with his backup outfit in his diaper bag.  I sat down and waited for Dr. Faucette to come in and talk to us about why we were there.  He started off with questions that didn’t seem to make any sense.  And then he dropped the bomb; Tyler was being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.  At that moment, I looked down at Tyler as I pulled him a little closer to me.  I was doing my best to listen to the words of encouragement that Dr. Faucette was offering, but it was getting harder to keep it together.  Just then I stopped looking at Tyler’s face and noticed the message on his onesie that I had just put him in: Smile.  It seemed to be no coincidence that Tyler needed an outfit change when we were there and this was the outfit that I had in the bag.  I had to believe that was the Universe’s way of letting us know that Tyler will be ok…

Fast forward to 2024.  We have been blessed to have new therapies available that have dramatically increased Tyler's quality of life.  With the latest research and medications Tyler is blending in with his friends and competing in sports at a level where nobody would know what he battles daily!

We are grateful for the advances; however, this isn't a cure.  More a fix until we can get there!  And, let's remember this is just a medication that his body can stop responding to at any time.

With your help we will get to a cure! To donate please click on the “Donate To Me” button.  We appreciate any and all help you are able to provide.  Your gift is 100% tax-deductible.  The research that is currently being done is providing the CF community with hope that there will be a cure in Tyler’s lifetime.  With your help this becomes even more of a possibility.  And, for that, we can’t thank you enough!
