I wanted to give a little backstory if I may...( of course I may) to how I became a part of Team Lex. Back in 2016 I returned to Staples to work ( more recruited than Lebron James mind you), and my right hand girl was Brett Nicolas. It wasn't love at first sight, you see I gave her 2 nicknames, Brett Michaels, and Brett Farve, ( she hated both), and she was not a fan of the Ltrain. But of course over time I won her ass over, DUH....and we became more than coworkers, we became family. The following year, her and the great man Kelby Nicolas had their first son Alexander and a bundle of joy he is. However, after much testing they discovered he had CF. Oh, I skipped right over where I got hosed out of being the Godfather, but I digress. Anywho, those 2, 20 something parents had this thrown at them and took it on like the champs that they are. I am in awe at the mental toughness they show and know that Lex could not be in better hands....and this is why I choose to walk with TEAM LEX every year.....and without you guys....this could not be possible.....THANK YOU ALL.......
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
