CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
My mom was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in her early 20s and fought a strong fight all the way up until 40 years old when she unfortunately lost her battle against colon cancer, a common comorbidity of cystic fibrosis. Growing up, I watched her fully immerse herself in the fundraising community with such enthusiasm and passion. Even with her gone, that enthusiasm and passion to support a cause that impacts so many people drives me to continue those efforts not only in fundraising but in my career in the biotech industry.
Even with the incredible pharmaceutical breakthroughs that have happened, there continues to be a need for more research and development for cystic fibrosis treatment. Donations go towards supporting these efforts and means the world to all people impacted by this condition.
