Our daughter Ashley was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 9 months of age. At that time the average life expectancy was a devastating 7 years old. CF is a genetic disease that impacts the lungs, pancreas, kidneys, liver and many other vital organs making it difficult to breathe and often patients live in pain. The effects of CF result in a life-long fight of infections, often leading to extensive lung damage, respiratory failure and too often death.
Thanks to the tireless work of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, its' partners and its' many donors however, our daughter, now 29, and many like her are thriving. But there is still much work to do to ensure a long, healthy life for Ashley and all who live with this horrible disease.
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF suffer. We participate in CF Foundation events to help change that reality and we hope you will too.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. By donating to our fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF! Until that dream becomes a reality The CF Foundation and its' partners work tirelessly on treatments to help all battling this disease.
