Hi, my name is Cheriz. I have Cystic Fibrosis. I would love for you to join my Great Strides Walk Team (CF2) or support the mission by helping us raise our goal!
Right now is a crucial time for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We need HELP fundraising for crucial research and vital new medication.
My story: I was born was 12 weeks premature with a bowel obstruction and gangrene in my intestines. Over the next 18 years of my life, I would spend weeks/months of my childhood in hospital room. I’ve been hospitalized more than 70 times and had more than a dozen major surgeries. I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Too many are gone too soon.
I walk in honor of all my friends, especially Laura. Laura was unable to receive a transplant and sadly passed in 2014.
Even though we have amazing modulators on market to help stabilize us, they are not a cure. For example, I am now resistant to all current antibiotic options on the market. I’m running out of options. We need more medication, more research, and best yet… a cure!
