This year, 2026, is an especially exciting year for our family because our son, Tre LaRosa, is marrying Jessica Burns on June 20, 2026. Tre will be 32 and Jessica will be nearly 31. We are looking forward to this monumental milestone like no other. It goes without saying that we wish Alyssa would be there with us, but we know she is our guardian angel ensuring a beautiful event. Tre's health has been good as he has been on Trikafta (aka miracle drug) since October 2019 or 6+ years. Trikafta has been a life changer for him and therefore all of us. This is the result of decades of investment in science to develop medicine/therapies that improve the quality of life for people living with CF, and for this we are forever grateful to every soul who has contributed to this success.
However, we are not finished yet. Trikafta and the many other treatments are not cures and nobody knows the long term effect on the body so we continue to forge forward to develop a cure for CF. To this day, we are on edge with CF and the many implications it has on a person's body.
With that said, we are walking again in the 2026 CF Great Strides event on May 16, 2025 in Cincinnati, OH Sawyer Point. If you are interested, please feel free to join our team and/or donate to our fight. We are getting closer, but are not finished UNTIL IT'S DONE.
