Hi, my name is Gavin Hess, and I walk for my little brother Nolan.

Nolan has Cystic Fibrosis, and I think he is the bravest kid ever. He takes his medicine with no problem, even though he has to take a lot of it every single day. He also has to get needles sometimes for blood work, and he’s really strong about it. Every day he does Vest Therapy, which is a special vest that shakes his chest to help keep his lungs healthy.

At our house, we have to be extra careful about germs because they can make Nolan really sick. He takes so many pills every day — and he has to do that forever unless there’s a cure for CF. That’s why we walk in Great Strides. We want to raise money to help find a cure so one day Nolan won’t have to do all of this just to stay healthy.

I love my brother so much, and I wish CF wasn’t real.
