I am once again walking in the Great Strides walk for Cystic Fibrosis at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in support of my nephew, Charlie. This year's walk will take place on Saturday, May 16th. I am reaching out to ask for your support.
Charlie was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis within hours of birth 14 years ago. With the love and care of his amazing parents and team of doctors, Charlie is thriving!
CF is a serious genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, making everyday life a challenge for those who have it. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. While there have been incredible strides in treatment, there is still no cure.
The funds raised through this walk help support life-saving research, treatments, and care for individuals and families impacted by CF.
I am reaching out to ask if you would consider supporting me with a donation. Any amount - big or small - truly makes a difference and brings us one step closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
