There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
My oldest son Daniel, was born with CF. At 33 hours old, he underwent major abdominal surgery to clear a blockage. That was almost 24 years ago now. Thanks to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the research that is funded through efforts like Great Strides, Daniel has been able to live an amazing life. He is quiet and humble, and you would hardly know from just looking at him that anything is out of the ordinary. The CF Clinic at Children's and support through efforts like this are what have led to such a successful and fruitful life!
