This year I am assembling a team for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Event in Washington D.C.
Great Strides is the foundation’s largest national fundraiser event which supports their mission to cure cystic fibrosis (CF). Friends, family, and colleagues come together at over 300 locations across the country for this walking event.
CF is a genetic disorder that can affect the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. In the United States alone, 40,000 people have some genetic variation of the disease. A majority of these cases are caught by the age of 2. As someone who was diagnosed with CF at the age of 25, I hope that this event can bring more awareness to the disease while simultaneously gathering my favorite people for a walk around The National Mall!
