Walk with our team to Cure Cystic Fibrosis
Fundraising for Des Moines Great Strides 2026
Tula's Capes and Tiaras
Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising event. The Des Moines Great Strides annual 2026 Walk is at Water Works Park on Saturday May 16. Since our first walk in 2011, family and friends have helped Tula’s Capes and Tiaras raise well over $50,000 in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s mission to cure CF.
Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, life-shortening genetic disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. As of March 2026, about 40,000 people in the United States live with CF.
Every person with CF is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While the CF Foundation has made incredible progress, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease! About 15% of the CF population have rare mutations and cannot benefit from existing therapies like Trikafta. We need a cure! Tula’s Capes and Tiaras is walking to help every person with CF have a better opportunity to live a long, healthy life.
Exciting breakthroughs, including gene-editing therapies, are on the horizon. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is leading the way in making these treatments a reality, but…time, funding, and persistence is needed to support their research.
YOU can help accelerate progress and make CF stand for "Cure Found!
Please help Tula and everyone living with CF add quality and length to their lives by supporting Tula’s Capes and Tiaras 2026 Great Strides.
