My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Dallas Great Strides 2026
Lauren Monahan
Cystic fibrosis is part of our family’s story, but it doesn’t define the whole picture. My husband works incredibly hard every day to take care of his health, stay active, and live fully—and I’m walking to support him and everyone else doing the same.
CF is a genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. It can make breathing harder and fighting infections more difficult, which means daily treatments and lifelong care. Still, people with CF show extraordinary resilience, determination, and strength.
Every person with cystic fibrosis has a unique journey. Thanks to research and new therapies, there has been meaningful progress, and people with CF are living longer, fuller lives than ever before. But there is still more work to be done.
I’m walking to help move us closer to a future where CF no longer limits what’s possible—where everyone with CF has the opportunity to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
