UPDATE ON CAROLINE'S HEALTH 

Caroline is seven years old now, and this past year has brought the biggest transformation of her life. Just a year ago, she began taking Trikafta, a breakthrough medication for cystic fibrosis and it has truly changed everything.

Before Trikafta, Caroline spent over 16 weeks each year on antibiotics and had even battled a pseudomonas infection, which is the leading cause of lung function decline in people with CF. It took six months of daily inhaled treatments, but we finally cleared it and since starting Trikafta, Caroline hasn’t needed a single round of antibiotics this year.

We’ve also been so grateful for the incredible care and vigilance from her school team. Her one-on-one aide follows her around with hand sanitizer like it’s her mission (because it is!), and her amazing kindergarten teacher has gone above and beyond—keeping her desk sanitized, giving her her own set of craft and coloring supplies, and doing everything possible to reduce her exposure to germs.

We walk to celebrate Caroline’s progress, to fight for a cure, and to honor all the CF warriors still in the fight.
