As unexpected first time parents, we wanted to make sure we had all our ducks in a row throughout pregnancy. With that, to be on the safe side we took to genetic testing to be sure there was nothing hiding that we both didn't know about. So be it as results came in, we were in shock to hear we both were carriers of a recessive gene for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Naturally, panic set in & testing went a step further to confirm our to-be little girls diagnosis. Turns out we didn’t get the news we were hoping for & about midway through the pregnancy we learned that CF was going to be a part of our lives. 

Since the confirmation of this diagnosis, we've been learning all we can about CF & thankfully, having a great care team to guide us along the way. Once our little girl, Reese, joined us we've been open to talking about her diagnosis to help inform others about CF & all that daily life entails between medicines, treatments & therapies. While it is a lot to those outside looking in, it is something that feels very natural & fluid to us.

Thankfully, as we continue to take everything in stride - Reese does nothing but supply the cutest smiling face. She is nothing short of a champion when it comes to anything regard her CF. While for now Reese is small, she is still very mighty & we cannot wait to only watch her get stronger.

While the CF Foundation has made incredible progress, not everyone with CF can benefit from existing therapies & we still need a cure. This does require time, funding, & persistence – but with you in Reese's corner – we'll make sure that she gets every opportunity she can have. Yet, while we're doing this to support our Reese, we want everyone with CF to have the chance to live a long, healthy life with this diagnosis.

So in April 2025, Reese’s Crew is participating in the DE Great Strides walk to make sure Reese & all CF patients get a chance to benefit from the research being done. No donation is too small & we appreciate all the support. As the saying goes, we want CF to be known as "Cure Found."
