It's that time of year again! Please join me in supporting the most awesome-ist of kids there is...McKenna! Its been almost 7 years now since we heard the news every parent dreads - your child has an illness that has no cure. From day 1, we have felt your love and support, and we are very happy to report that McKenna is doing great! She still has her treatments everyday (6am and 6pm) and takes a ton of pills to help keep her healthy, but the advancements in CF treatment due to the donations from people like you has given her and other CF patients a new lease on life! McKenna currently does Gymnastics 2 days a week, loves Cheerleading (her team took 2nd place!) and this summer is taking up golf (at least I hope!) I hope you can join us this year - May 4th at the Detroit Zoo!!! We appreciate everything you all have done for us and the support you have shown the CF Community. What you do matters! Whether it is financial, informing others, or just sending some good vibes our way - I want to say thank you! I hope you can join us in the effort. There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality. We stride until CF stands for Cure Found!
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
