Walk with our team to Cure Cystic Fibrosis

Team Elsey
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Lennon was diagnosed at two months old with CF after his newborn screening test indicated a genetic mutation and follow up testing at Children's Specialty Center in Detroit confirmed he was not just a carrier, but had the disease. Thankfully, his incredible care team immediately started a treatment plan that includes the medication, Kalydeco. In combination with Kalydeco and frequent medical appointments, Lennon does daily breathing treatments followed by CPT sessions. Because of decades of medical research and the miracle of science, Lennon will hopefully never have to know the life that so many people with CF have struggled with thanks to this treatment plan, making him one of the lucky ones. Kalydeco is incredibly expensive and a lifelong necessity that not everyone has access to nor can benefit from which makes the fight for a cure imperative.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While the CF Foundation has made incredible progress, not everyone with CF can benefit from existing therapies and we still need a cure. This will require time, funding, and persistence – but with you on our team – we are ready to go the distance.
We invite you to take part in Great Strides by joining our team. This event promises to be a fun-filled day where you can help advance the care and research needed to cure cystic fibrosis. By walking with us, you’ll enjoy not only the natural camaraderie, but the important impact we are making together.
Our team is committed to providing every person with CF the opportunity to live a long, healthy life. Also, by donating to our fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF. Will you join us?
