My Great Strides Story
Rachel Nixdorf
Fundraising for Eau Claire Great Strides
Rachel Nixdorf
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I'm walking to help change that reality.
I was diagnosed with CF at birth. CF has brought many challenges to my life. However, with all the continued fundraising efforts, the advances in drugs available have increased the life span and quality of life for all with CF.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
God willing, my journey has included being able to train and complete several half marathons and two full marathons. Exercise and daily treatment regimens are keep in staying healthy.

The fight isn't over until a cure is found. If you feel led, please donate to support the road to finding a cure for CF. Thank you!
