My Great Strides Story
Margaret Nawrockyj
Margaret Nawrockyj
Canaan is a nine year old boy who loves Iron Man. He's in third grade and he loves to ride his bike and build Lego's.
Canaan's done really well this past year. One of the biggest changes is that he has started jiu jitsu (something a few years ago we could never have imagined). He is a yellow belt and working on becoming an orange belt and loving every minute of it! He still sings all the time. He's discovered bacon and, even though he still relies on his feeding tube, he can eat half a package of bacon all on his own!
We are all so proud of Canaan and the joyful way he approaches life. I've truly never witnessed someone who genuinely enjoys people more than Canaan.
Currently, every day Canaan does two sinus rinses, an hour in his flutter vest and nebulizing, takes his medications and gets three boluses of formula. He still has quite a few doctors to follow with labs that are done routinely. And he never complains.
Will you please help us advance the current treatment for Cystic Fibrosis and help us reach our goal of one day having a cure?
Some information about Cystic Fibrosis (CF):
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
