Hiking 30 Miles for a Cure

This September, I’m hiking 30 miles in one day on the Appalachian Trail to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

My five-year-old son, Louie, has cystic fibrosis, so this cause is incredibly personal to our family. Cystic fibrosis is a progressive genetic disease that affects the lungs, digestive system, and other organs. For generations, a CF diagnosis came with devastating uncertainty and a dramatically shortened life span. But because of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and because people chose to donate, fundraise, and believe that more was possible, the future for people with CF has been transformed.

Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation have helped fund research that led to life-changing treatments, including CFTR modulators like Trikafta, which Louie is on. These medications have changed the outlook for many people with CF and have given my son a future.

That progress happened because people before us donated, fundraised, and invested in research. But there is still no cure, and not everyone with CF can benefit from current treatments.

So, I’m putting my hiking boots to work and taking on 30 miles to help support the next breakthrough.

If you’re able to donate, I’d be grateful for your support. Every contribution helps fund research and move us closer to better treatments and a cure for everyone with CF.

Thank you for supporting Louie and the CF community.
