Oaklyn: 🌳Meaning “beautiful oak” synonymous with durability, strength, and life. The name is associated with grace, beauty, and endurance.
Atlas: 🌎Meaning “enduring” or “to endure” The name Atlas symbolizes strength, resilience, and determination. “The name, Atlas, is the mythical Titan that held the weight of the world on his shoulders. Little ones with this name can be inspired by the might of the gods to find their own inner strength”
Although we didn’t know how true this would really be when we were picking out her first and middle name, our little Oaklyn was born to do many great things and have great power while doing it. This couldn’t be more true as we have recently found out!

Our beautiful little Oaklyn Atlas was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis on January 16th, at only 8 days old. While there were and are a lot of emotions that come with hearing this diagnosis, we want to stay strong for our girl. There are things we have already started to help her manage CF, and like the meaning of her name states, she has endured it all with great strength! She has truly surprised us by how well she has adapted to her new medication and vitamins, showing how resilient she really is😊
There is a lot that is still yet to come for Oaklyn with her treatments and her doctors appointments, but not much that we can do to “help”. One thing we can do is take to part in different fundraising and other activities to help find a cure for CF.
CF is a genetic disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. We don’t know what lies ahead for Oaklyn, but we know that we will continue to fight for her.
