My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Green Bay Great Strides 2026

Cystic Fibrosis is something that has touched our family in a very personal way.
Although our little Dutton is four years old now, I can still remember that phone call like it was yesterday. He was just 10 days old. I remember exactly where I was when I received the call that he had been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.
My heart sank.
The very first thing I did was call Katie, the mom of one of my daycare kiddos at the time, Hudson, who also had Cystic Fibrosis. I can still picture myself standing there with tears in my eyes as I made that call.
That day changed so much.
Because children with CF cannot be around each other due to cross infection risks, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to terminate Hudson's care. Even now, thinking about that day still brings tears to my eyes. Hudson and his family meant so much to us.
But over time I've come to believe that God had a plan bigger than anything I could understand in that moment. I truly believe He chose me to care for Hudson during his early years, and it was also His plan to choose Mikayla and Tommy to be Dutton's parents.
Two amazing boys.
Two incredible families.
One disease we desperately need a cure for.
Please consider donating to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis so that no other family has to feel the fear and worry that our family and Hudson's family feel every single time these boys get sick.
A cure would change everything.
