This is my 13th year as Team leader for Team Reis.
Reis is my granddaughter and is a happy, healthy, young lady with a passion for hurdles and running. Reis is energetic and enthusiastic and is always a beam of sunshine.
She has been one of the lucky ones to have been able to be on CFTR modulators since age 2 and is doing well, though she required a prolonged NICU stay and 2 surgeries at birth.
She has been able to benefit from each new iteration of CFTR modulators and we hope that because she was able to start so early she will be spared the more devastating effects of Cystic Fibrosis.
CFTR modulators are an incredible class of medications developed in the last 16 years that have been very effective at helping many to live healthy lives. They are not a cure, and some with CF find these medications do not work for them. Continuing research is geared to finding a CURE for everyone.
We walk to raise funds for continuing research for a cure for all.
