My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Atlanta Great Strides 2026
Jennifer Stasney
When my son Blake was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at just 5 weeks old, our world changed in an instant. As a mother, hearing the words lifelong, chronic disease attached to your baby is something you never forget. There were moments of fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak—including two separate two-week hospital stays that reminded us just how serious CF can be.
But there has also been incredible hope.
Because of life-changing advancements in CF research—and breakthrough medications like Trikafta and Alyftrek—Blake is now living a full, healthy life that once felt unimaginable. Today, he is finishing up his first year at Georgia Southern University, chasing his dreams, building his future, and living proof of what research, advocacy, and generosity can do.
While we are deeply grateful for how far CF care has come, there is still no cure.
That’s why I walk. That’s why I raise money. That’s why I ask for your support.
Every donation—big or small—helps fund critical research, better treatments, and brings us closer to a world where no family has to hear the words, “Your child has cystic fibrosis.”
Please consider supporting Blake’s Buddies and joining us in the fight for a cure.
For Blake. For every child and family battling CF. For a future without cystic fibrosis.
With love and gratitude,
Jennifer
