My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Atlanta Great Strides 2026
Juliet Kim
For the first time, I get to walk in the Atlanta Great Strides Walk.
For a long time, I didn’t think this would ever be possible. I used to get out of breath so quickly and had such low energy that even the idea of participating felt out of reach.
Living with cystic fibrosis hasn’t been easy. It’s a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects my lungs and other organs, making it hard to breathe and fight infections. About a year and a half ago, my lungs stopped working, and I had to undergo multiple major surgeries, including a double lung transplant. Since then, I’ve faced complications and ongoing challenges that I’m still navigating every day.
But I'm alive. I can breathe better. And for the first time, I get to walk.
While there has been incredible progress in treating CF, there is still no cure, and too many people are still losing their lives to this disease far too young. Every person with CF has a different journey, and not everyone can benefit from current treatments. That’s why this walk matters so much.
I’m walking for hope. For a healthier future. For everyone living with CF who is still fighting their own battles.
If you’re able to, I would truly appreciate your support—whether that’s joining my team or donating toward my fundraising goal. Every dollar helps move us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure for everyone with CF.
Thank you for being part of my journey 💙
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
