Thank you so much for coming out to support Shiloh’s team!

We’re incredibly grateful to be part of this community working together to fund research for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

For those who may not know, CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. It makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to severe lung damage and respiratory failure.

Many of you know that Shiloh spent nearly half of her first two years in the hospital. There were multiple times we almost lost her, and even when she was home, her care required around-the-clock medical attention.

There are people living with Cystic Fibrosis today that were given a life-expectancy of an early teenager when they were born. Today, thanks to groundbreaking research and the generosity of people who chose to support research years ago, that number has risen to 65. Life-changing medications now exist because people held onto hope that progress was possible.

Unfortunately, not everyone with CF is able to benefit from these medications due to factors like mutation type, cost, or severe side effects. That’s why the search for a cure remains so important.

Every person living with CF faces a unique journey and different challenges. In addition to CF, Shiloh also lives with an unrelated life-threatening syndrome. While her respiratory health has improved significantly, we were reminded just a year ago in April of how quickly things can turn south when she went into acute respiratory failure just days before she should have been debuting as a flower girl for the first time. 

Shiloh would not be here today without the brave families and supporters who rallied their communities to fund research long before there were promising treatments or breakthroughs.
