My Great Strides Story
Thomas Keens
Fundraising for Greater Los Angeles Great Strides 2026
Thomas Keens
I am proud to have been the Director of the Children's Hospital Los Angeles Cystic Fibrosis Care Center until my retirement in 2023. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder affecting over 40,000 people in the U.S., and many more world wide. When CF was first described in the medical literature (1938), nearly all babies died by one-year of age. Due to nearly 90-years of research, largely funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the median survival for people with CF is over 60-years. But, people still die form CF, and work remains to be done. Please join me to help in the fight to cure CF. I will be walking at the Los Angeles Great Strides on May 2, 2026, in Valley Village Park in North Hollywood. Please join me. Or, if you can not join, please consider donating to end CF --- until it is done. Thank you.
