My Great Strides Story

My two daughters, Carter and Kennedy, both have Cystic Fibrosis. Diagnosed while infants, they have never known a life without various medications throughout the day or hours of treatment to help keep them healthy. It’s their normal, but it shouldn’t have to be. I dream of the day that Kennedy can spend an entire day/ night away without having to worry about fitting in her treatment. I dream of the day that Carter will be able to eat while out and about without having to remember to pack medication. I dream of a cold just being a cold without worry and a cough being a cough without fear.
My fighters are the happiest little girls I know and I learn so much from them. Who knew my heroes one day would be the kids that I’m raising? Watching them grow, thrive, and beat odds with smiles on their faces, really puts all of my daily struggles into perspective. I’m tremendously lucky to be their mama.
While treatments have been advancing rapidly for their condition, there is no cure for CF yet. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic disease that impacts the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. It can have devastating consequences for those inflicted.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward so that one day CF will stand for Cure Found.
