Meet Cora -- the heart and inspiration behind our team.
Cora was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) when she was just 7 days old. From that moment on, she's faced each day with strength, determination, joy and a smile that can light up a room.
Now 13 years old, Cora is a vibrant and active 7th grader at Westfield Middle School. She was a proud member of the 7th grade girls Rocks Basketball team, and when she's not on the court, she's on the soccer field--playing year-round with the Indy Eleven ECNL RL 2011 Girls Soccer team. Sports are her passion, and she gives it her all every time she plays.
But behind the scenes, Cora puts in the hard work to stay healthy. She faithfully manages her daily breathing treatments and uses a vest therapy system to help keep her lungs clear. It's not easy--but she handles it with incredible grace and perseverance.
Cora's big sister, Emma, is a Freshman at Westfield High School and one of her biggest supporters. Emma has even taken her advocacy all the way to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, speaking out for Cora and other CF warriors in hopes of securing a better future for them all.
Right now, Cora is not eligible for the latest modulator treatments that are helping many others. That's why fundraising is more important than ever--for research, for better treatments, and for a cure.
We walk for Cora.
We walk for progress.
We walk for the day CF stands for Cure Found.
Thank you for supporting Cora's Crew. Your donation brings us one step closer to that day.
