I was told I wouldn’t live through high school—yet here I am, with a master’s degree. I was told I’d never be a mom—yet I have a happy, healthy toddler who fills my life with joy. I was told I’d never be a nurse—yet I spent nearly a decade working in the ICU and am now a nurse practitioner, caring for others every day.

Every single day, I defy the odds, and I owe that to groundbreaking research and medical advancements made possible by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

But there’s still more work to do. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a progressive, life-threatening disease, and too many people with CF don’t get the chance to live out their dreams. That’s why I’m walking—to honor my brother, Bailey, who lost his battle to neuroblastoma and CF at just 4 years old, and to fight for a future where CF no longer limits lives.
