Brent and Tiffany's Story
Beverly Waters
Fundraising for Madison Great Strides
Beverly Waters
Dear Friends and Family,
This year’s ‘Great Strides Walk to Cure Cystic Fibrosis’ (CF) is scheduled for Sunday, June 1st at the Madison Surf Club. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.
After many years of thoughtful and careful consideration, last summer Don and I moved from Madison CT to Davidson NC. We are very pleased with our new home and its proximity to family, but some Connecticut roots are too deep to sever. My personal connection to the Madison Great Strides Walk is one of them. The CT Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has worked tirelessly to support me and my family over the last three decades. Through their dedicated efforts, donations from you have been funneled directly into more effective treatments and the search for a cure for this dreaded disease.
On April 29th of last year, our nephew, Brent, and his wife, Kalli, welcomed the arrival of their son, Forrest Thomas Hendricks. At one year old, Forrest is a healthy, beautiful, and playful little guy. Brent and Kalli are devoted parents, but they never take Brent’s good health for granted. They work tirelessly to keep Brent on a healthy track, and he is enjoying fatherhood. Brent loves the outdoors, and he is already grooming Forrest (his name was intentional!) to embrace the natural world outside.
Thanks to you and to your faithful generosity, we have been able to reach this incredible milestone for Brent. The focus of my fundraising has been and continues to be for children suffering with Cystic Fibrosis. However, we are also in new territory now that people with the disease can live longer. At Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-accredited care centers all over the United States, new research, clinical trials, and improved medications make that possible.
I am so very grateful that you have followed Brent’s progress—and Tiffany’s while she was on this earth—and that you have supported me so generously over these years. With your help, we are confident that one day, not one person will lose a loved one - child, sibling, parent, or friend - to cystic fibrosis.
To contribute, please click on the link above labeled "Donate," and follow the instructions provided.
To contribute by check, make it payable to: CFF, and send it to me at:
As always, from our family to yours, we thank you for your generous contributions, for your encouraging messages, and for your prayers!
Please stay well.
Love,
Bev
