My name is Melissa Francos, I am an adult living with Cystic Fibrosis. I have been participating in Great Strides for over 10 years. Throughout my time as a patient/volunteer, I have seen HUGE breakthroughs in the CF community. From patient support/care to brand new therapies that have been discovered for our community! All these changes have made life with CF much more livable and manageable!
In 2019, I started the brand-new modulator named Trikafta. It has completely changed my life and given me a second chance at life. Although there are new therapies that continue to be approved and released to the public, there is still no cure for CF. Many people who I know personally cannot benefit from current modulators that are out. Which is why I continue to volunteer and fundraise each year to help fund these research efforts.
