Walk with our team to Cure Cystic Fibrosis
Fundraising for Mid-Willamette Great Strides
Judah’s Lions
Judah was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis just after he was a month old. For Judah, the results of a sweat test were what confirmed his diagnosis. A number greater than 60 means = CF diagnosis. Between 30-60 means CF is possible. Less than 30 means CF diagnosis is unlikely. Judah’s results in 2013 were 97. This year, after Judah started up Trikafta again, the clinic re-tested his sweat chloride. I remember sitting with Judah as we saw that number.

Because of this medication, his whole body is responding differently. 💜 Hope.
Judah still has Cystic Fibrosis. With medications, come side effects to watch out for. Judah would say that doing all do the responsibilities related to CF and his care are the hardest, especially at night when he’s tired and just wants to take it easy. Keeping up with treatments is still important, or he will develop that cough, the one that gets me worried, him too. Could it turn into something? You never know. That is CF. This hiding disease. You never know what’s happening under the surface until you walk into the appointment and hear the numbers. And then you wait.
Judah is also a pretty easy going little buddy in so many ways, one of the silliest I know. In the moments when I see him sprinting down from one side of the basketball court to the other, over and over again, I am amazed.
He’s strong and determined.
Healthy Judah.
While the CF Foundation has made incredible progress, not everyone with CF can benefit from existing therapies and we still need a cure. This will require time, funding, and persistence – but with you on our team – we are ready to go the distance.
Our team is committed to providing every person with CF the opportunity to live a long, healthy life. Will you join us?
