My Great Strides Story

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
The last 18 years has been a roller coaster ride. Many medications, not all of them pills, many breathing treatments, a few hospital stays, a few surgeries , a few procedures, but overall, my child has had pretty good health. Last summer Alyssa, Nicki and I got to go to San Diego Comic Con as her Make-A-Wish. It was definitely the trip of a lifetime and I hadn't seen her that happy in a while. I hope that things keep going the way they are in the search for treatments and cures, but those don't come cheap. If you can help by donating that would be helpful and very much appreciated, not just by me, my child, or my family, but all those who benefit from the research that is done to further their lives.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
