After our 20th year of fundraising for the CFF in 2024, I thought I would stop putting so much effort into Kyra’s Klan. I didn't have plans to ask for donations this year because I felt like Kyra had such great control of her CF, and she would live a great life even without a cure for CF. However, just a few weeks ago Kyra was admitted to the hospital for the first time in her life. She had pneumonia and signs of sepsis. So, at the age of 20, her CF had gotten bad enough to warrant in-patient treatment. She was on IV antibiotics and doing 4 vest & nebulizer treatments a day. It was scary, exhausting, and a real wake up call for us. After 5 days in the hospital her breathing was easier, she had less chest and back pain and was released. But now she is back to doing her preventative treatments (2x vest & neb treatments/day). If you have been supporting us for a while, you may remember that she had stopped doing those treatments about 7 years ago (only using her oral medications). And at the age of 20 that had finally caught up with her. So, now she’s back at it. Doing the work she needs to do to stay healthy!  
 
So, that means that I’m back at it again too! Doing the work to raise money to fund research to find a cure for this chronic disease! It’s the least I can do knowing that Kyra and so many others are working so hard to maintain their lung function and overall health!

This is our 21^st year as Kyra’s Klan!
