💜 Tristan is Our Trooper – Help Us Walk for a Cure 💜
Since Tristan was about 3 months old, he has been expected to do a 30 minute vibrating vest and nebulizer treatment twice a day to help keep his lungs clear. He takes a pill twice a day to help slow the progression of the disease down as well. Every three months he visits his incredible care team at the U of M, and annually he spends an entire day there for more extensive testing — including a three-hour blood draw, X-rays, ultrasounds and other evaluations. Through it all, he continues to amaze us with his strength and resilience.
We do our best to keep Tristan busy and enjoying life through sports and activities, but the reality is that cystic fibrosis is a progressive disease. As he grows older, the challenges can grow too.
When Tristan was born, we were told the life expectancy for someone with cystic fibrosis was 36 years old. As a parent, that was a terrifying thing to hear. Thankfully, incredible progress has been made. Because of breakthroughs in treatments, modulators, and research, life expectancy continues to increase for babies being born today but still, there is no cure.
That’s why we’re walking.
We are raising money and awareness to support research, better treatments, and ultimately a cure for Tristan and everyone living with cystic fibrosis. Every donation — big or small — helps move research forward and gives families like ours hope for the future.
Thank you for standing with Tristan until CF stands for Cure Found 💜
