My Great Strides Story
Jennifer Krause
Fundraising for Montrose Great Strides
Jennifer Krause
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
Why do we walk?
We walk because of Hunter. Hunter is a former St. Michael's student and Mrs. Krause's oldest son, who was diagnosed with CF at 10 months and is now 19. He is a very active and abnormal CF patient. Hunter works full time at Fresh Cut Lawn Care. He does not let CF slow him down as he enjoys outdoor activities like skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, and golfing. He also has played soccer, basketball, baseball, and ran cross country and track while in school. Hunter is thriving and growing because of all the CF Foundation has done to help with research on medications. Funds raised go to research and create new medications and treatments that help Hunter every day with growth, digestion, and breathing. We walk to end this chronic illness and make CF stand for Cure Found!
St. Michael's Richville Walk--Friday, May 23 @ 1 PM
At the school with snacks and drinks provided by Michigan Dairy Grant (Woodward Farms) and Thrivent Grant.
