Hello,
It's that time of year again. I, along with other members of Team Adam, will once again participate in the Great Strides Walk in Northern VA. The walk will take place at Ida Lee Park (60 Ida Lee Park Drive, Leesburg VA) on Saturday May 17, 2025 at 10:30am (Check in at 9:30am). The Great Strides Walk is a nationwide walk to fund finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
Many of you know that I have a younger brother, Adam, that was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at a year old. I am so proud of the man he has become. At that time, in 1994, the average life expectancy of someone with CF was in their 20s. Adam is now 31 years old. With all of the advances, because of donors like you, a lot of research has been done and CF patients are living normal lives well beyond their 40s.

At that time, in 1994, the average life expectancy of someone with CF was in their 20s. Adam is now 31 years old. With all of the advances, because of donors like you, a lot of research has been done and CF patients are living normal lives well beyond their 40s.
On a daily basis, Adam takes 30+ pills to help his food digest and has to wear a vibrating vest while doing breathing treatments twice a day to help break up the mucus in his lungs. He never complains or has self pity.
Adam has reached exciting personal milestones. He has started a new job, him and his wife, Kim, have celebrated two years of marriage and Adam and Kim welcomed their beautiful baby girl, McKenna Anne, into the world on March 20, 2025. This new chapter brings so much joy and I'm blessed to be a part of the story.
These achievements, big and small, are a reminder of the importance of family, health and hope. I walk in honor of Adam and all those affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
There is no cure for CF. CF is the most common fatal genetic disease in the United States. A defective gene causes the body to produce abnormally thick mucus. This mucus leads to chronic lung infections and interferes with digestion. Tremendous medical advances are being made everyday and your support will ensure that children will have a healthy and productive life. There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with Cystic Fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle everyday to breathe. we walk for them. Will you join us?
