My Great Strides Story

As we continue our journey in the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis, there is so much for us to be thankful for and so many milestones we’ve achieved together. This year has been nothing short of remarkable for Adam and his family.
Adam has reached exciting personal milestones, including a new job that has opened up fresh opportunities. He and his wife, Kim, also celebrated their second anniversary, a beautiful reminder of love and partnership. Most recently and most wonderfully, Adam and Kim welcomed their beautiful daughter, McKenna Anne, into the world on March 20th. This new chapter brings immeasurable joy, and we are all thrilled to celebrate this miracle with them.
These achievements, big and small, remind us of the importance of family, health, and hope. We walk together in honor of Adam and all those affected by Cystic Fibrosis, driven by the love and inspiration of those closest to us.
There is absolutely nothing in this world that will prepare you when you are told that your child has cystic fibrosis. In a second, your whole world is turned upside down. But you fight – you make the best of a horrible situation. That’s why Doug and I do whatever we can to promote funding and finding a cure for this disease. We are so blessed to have such a strong support group: family, friends, doctors, and nurses.
There is no cure for CF. CF is the most common fatal genetic disease in the United States. A defective gene causes the body to produce abnormally thick mucus. This mucus leads to chronic lung infections and interferes with digestion. Tremendous medical advances are being made every day and your support will ensure that children will have a healthy and productive life. To learn more about CF, please visit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation website at www.cff.org.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. We walk for them. Will you join us?
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
