I'm walking to increase awareness and raise research funding to support work to end cystic fibrosis, for which there is currently no cure. Though research efforts have changed the lung transplant landscape, modulator therapy is unavailable to many minority patients whose genetic mutations are not corrected with the available therapy.
CF is a genetic, life-limiting disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
