My Great Strides Story

Fundraising for New York 5 Borough Great Strides 2026
Nicole Saucier
Marc’s Trotters is excited for its New York and Massachusetts Teams to participate in this year’s Great Strides Walk! We’ve been putting in miles since Marc was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 2013.
Marc is a wonderfully energetic 13-year-old, and thanks to our supportive family, the NYU Langone Cystic Fibrosis Center team, and Trikafta, a CFTR modulator, he’s healthy and growing. Marc’s a skilled swimmer, plays basketball, produces short films, and is a talented musician, playing piano and singing. He has 5 musicals and a dozen recitals under his belt, with more to come this June!
Even with Trikafta, Marc still needs to continue his twice-daily treatments (nebulizers and chest compression therapy), take pancreatic enzymes before he eats foods with fat and proteins, and see his CF team at least quarterly.
We fully support the Great Strides Walk and the CF Foundation in our combined mission to cure Cystic Fibrosis. While progress, such as improved CFTR modulators and treatment options, have helped some CF fighters, too many are still struggling with the effects of CF.
We are beyond grateful for the progress that has been made, and we will not stop until we achieve our ultimate goal, which is a cure. To achieve this goal, more research is essential, requiring a very substantial investment. Even after a cure is found, customized care will be needed for generations to treat long-lasting health problems, making continued donor support vital. Fundraising is critical to advance our mission, and now is the time to act.
Help us find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!
Thank you!
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
